About Mountain Gate
Mountain Gate is an upscale community of 193 single-family homes located in the Bull Mountain Area of unincorporated Washington County. The neighborhood is famous in the community for its beautifully maintained maple trees that are required on every property.
In 1989 Mountain Gate was developed by Dennis Derby of Double D Construction. Two Streets of Dreams were built, the first in 1987 on Tarleton Court, and the second in 1991 named Twelve Oaks, established as a gated community but still part of Mountain Gate.
By the summer of 1993 all 193 lots were built out. Our community comprises the following streets: Peachtree Drive, Scarlett Drive and Scarlett Place, Ashley Drive and Ashley Court, Charleston Lane, Tarleton Court, Carolina Court, 136th Place and 137th Place, Rhett Court, and Twelve Oaks Court.
